Networking for Success in Victoria

Eventbrite - Networking for Success in Victoria
This workshop is perfect for newcomers and local residents who want to develop their networking skills. If you don’t already have a job, or just want to make new friends in Victoria, networking is a critical skill, yet many people have a strong aversion to the concept of networking. They may think it means being “salesy” or ‘fake” and yet it doesn’t have to be that way. I’ll share my Ultimate Action Plan to help you to show up at networking events in a confident and authentic way. It will reduce your stress and change your perception of networking.

If you’re looking for work in Victoria, networking is essential. You’ve probably heard of the unpublished job market, where up to 50% of the job opportunities in a city are never advertised – in Victoria it’s more like 80-90%. Most positions are filled by word of mouth referrals and you’ll want to network to uncover unpublished opportunities that could be perfect for you. This two and a half hour workshop will give you tools and confidence to become a more confident networker, even if you’ve never done it before. If you’re a newcomer, you may also find you make some good connections with local residents and you’ll discover some of the many opportunities that exist in Victoria to practice your networking skills.

You’ll also have the opportunity to book a complimentary one-on-one 15 minute coaching/support call to refine your 30 second introduction and get personalized advice to support you in achieving your networking goals.

Here’s what previous participants enjoyed the most:
Open friendly environment
Concrete resources and information to help me move forward with my networking
Well organized and presented
The authenticity of the coach
Small group, easy feel

Mini Self-Care Retreat

Zen pebbles path. Spa and healthcare concept. If you’re a busy professional woman, give yourself permission to take an evening off and discover why practicing self-care is so important for you AND everyone else in your life. Learn why so many women don’t make taking care of themselves a priority and the impact this has on themselves and others.

Experience a 90 minute self-care workshop where you’ll take time to appreciate some of the qualities that make you special and leave with a plan to integrate more self-care into your life.

There will be some sharing, though this is purely optional. The key focus of this seminar is to create a space for you to do some thinking about what practicing more self-care could look like for you.

At 7:00 pm we’ll all retire to a special table set aside just for us in the McKenzie Lounge, at the Union Club for a delicious buffet supper that is included in the retreat price of only $74.50. Enjoying supper together will provide a wonderful opportunity to connect and get to know each other better.

The overwhelming feedback from participants in the Commit to Self-Care and Be Your BEST Self workshop is that they would recommend it to others and here’s what a recent participant, Deb Alcadinho had to say:

“Sue Maitland guides women in a 90 minute self-care workshop encompassing brainstorming, awareness and enlightenment. I had the pleasure of attending one of Sue’s recent workshops and found it extremely worthwhile. As a busy professional, it’s challenging to find time for myself but Sue brought to light some interesting things to ponder and an awareness of self that I had not previously taken the time to do. Thank you Sue for a great 90 minutes, followed by an scrumptious dinner at the Union Club. Highly recommended! ”
