What You Need To Know About Moving to Victoria

If you’re a professional or a business owner who’s thinking of moving to Victoria, or have recently moved to this beautiful city, this talk is perfect for you.

You’ll find Victoria is unlike any other city you’ve ever lived in. Sue moved here over 25 years ago and it was her best move ever, however she was surprised to discover how many people move to Victoria and don’t always have such a positive experience.

Sue has now dedicated a key area of her coaching practice to helping professionals and business owners who want to move to Victoria, determine if this move is right for them and if it is, help them enjoy a smooth and successful transition. Sue also helps newcomers to Victoria who want to take full advantage of all the city has to offer and would like the support of a professional life & career transitions coach who knows the city and how it works. Sue helps people through info sessions like this one, workshops and one-on-one coaching.

In 90 minutes, Sue will share valuable information including a profile of Victoria residents, the climate, the job market, the full range of outdoor and indoor activities, the interesting makeup of local government and perhaps most valuable of all, her inside scoop on what it takes to fully embrace living in Victoria. There’ll be time for Q&A, networking with other participants and some surprise special offers too.

While some information will be provided that will be relevant for families, this event is in a small group setting and is specifically designed for adults.

Space is limited, so don’t hesitate, reserve your FREE seat immediately to avoid disappointment and get the inside scoop on living in Victoria from a local expert.

Here’s what recent participants liked the most:

“A lot of valuable information”
“The structured approach and the way the information was delivered”
“Well organized”
“Friendly atmosphere”
“Good use of my time”

10 Tips for more JOY and Less STRESS This Holiday Season

Christmas BoxThe Holidays can be a wonderful time of year when we take time to celebrate all that we have and the spirit of the season often encourages us to give to others less fortunate than ourselves.

However, along with all those wonderful feelings can also come a great deal of stress. There’s so much planning and preparation and social events to attend and of course the traditions that can sometimes become more of a burden than a joy.

Follow my 10 tips and you’ll experience more JOY and less STRESS this Holiday Season

  1. Remember that YOU are Important – it’s so easy to focus on making sure everyone else is having a good time that you may forget to take care of yourself. Remember this is YOUR holiday too – put yourself in the mix.
  2. Make a Plan – make a list of everything that has to be done as early as possible and add target dates for completion
  3. Invite Others to Help – share the list with everyone who participates in your Holiday Celebration and invite them to pick a number of things off the list that they will take care of
  4. Don’t Strive for Perfection – if others are helping, understand that they might do things a little differently than you would and commit to being OK with that – it’s not about perfection – it’s about having fun!
  5. Don’t Get Hung Up on Tradition – if a family tradition is a lot of work for you and you don’t love doing it, invite someone else to do it or suggest an alternative that could work for you
  6. Put a Limit on Spending – set a $ amount for all gifts and stick to it. If someone wants a bigger gift, let 2 or 3 family members club together to buy it. Ask people to provide a wish list that fits the budget.
  7. Find a Way to Give Back – whether you volunteer at a shelter, donate to a food bank, buy a hen or a goat for a family in Africa or invite a recently widowed neighbour in for a drink or a meal, take time to honour what we’re celebrating at this time of year.
  8. Eliminate Non-Essentials – send cards only to people who are really important to you and who you know will appreciate them, consider going out to eat rather than cooking a huge meal, or make it a pot luck meal where everyone contributes something
  9. Build FUN into Your Plans – ask everyone to pick a fun activity that they would love to do over the Holiday Period and add each of their activities to your plan.
  10. BREATHE & Take Mini-Breaks – this is especially important if you’re feeling overwhelmed or if there is any family tension in the air. Step outside and take a moment to unwind and just breathe – you’ll be practicing self-care and able to show up as your best self for others when you do this.

Wishing you and those you care about a wonderful Holiday Season

Secrets to Planning a Happy Retirement

Chair by LakeTake time to pause and explore what an ideal retirement could look like for you. One of the biggest challenges in thinking about retirement is creating a clear vision of how you’ll spend your time. Until you have this clarity, it can be hard to find the motivation to set financial goals to help you achieve it. Baby boomers have very different ideas about retirement than their parents. In this 90 minute workshop, Sue creates a space for you to begin to clarify your retirement vision, shares her top tips for a successful retirement and helps you avoid regrets later in life. Don’t procrastinate – the time to plan is now BEFORE you begin your retirement.
